變色OK繃 降低死亡風險
大家習慣在小傷口上貼OK繃，但若不小心還是會感染破傷風等致命病毒。如果OK繃能在傷口惡化當下立即以顏色變化顯示，便能挽救寶貴生命。現在，這個願望成真了！
根據科技媒體「WIRED.jp」，這款會變色的OK繃，由英國巴斯大學與布魯斯特皇家兒童醫院所研發。由於繃帶上的奈米膠囊含有螢光染料，當病原菌在患部分泌毒素，會刺激活化奈米膠囊並釋出染料，導致顏色改變。
「奈米膠囊會模仿皮膚細胞的運作，遇上有害細菌時即遭破壞。若棲息在皮膚上的是無害細菌，即不會有任何反應」發明者表示，這款OK繃有助於臨床醫生早日發現病患異樣，及早診斷因應，「對於人命救助能做出貢獻」。
尤其是小孩，即便是小小的燙傷，都會讓小孩暴露在感染風險中。因為以現在的技術，臨床醫生很難斷定小孩是因為嚴重的細菌感染而發燒，或只是單純感冒引起。為以防萬一，只能先投以抗生素治療，一旦細菌對藥物產生抗性，很可能造成症狀惡化。
有了這種OK繃，既有助於醫生診斷，也能減少使用抗生素所產生的抗藥性風險。
